Rangers’ season officially ended today, as the Scottish league season was abandoned and finished amid the ongoing global pandemic.
The Gers finish second in the Scottish Premiership, meaning Celtic have won their ninth league title in a row. The season hasn’t ended how anyone expected, but Rangers must now regroup.
Their 2020 form was disappointing, squandering their chance of winning the title. Steven Gerrard needs to think about his squad and some potential arrivals, with two targets already emerging.
The Scottish Sun claim that Gerrard wants to bring Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson and Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes to Ibrox, believing they can make the step up.
Ferguson is a particularly interesting case. The 20-year-old’s father is Derek Ferguson, and his uncle is Barry Ferguson; both men played for Rangers.
Lewis himself started out with Rangers. He was released in 2013, leaving the club as a youngster to go and emerge with Hamilton Academical before joining Aberdeen in 2018.

Now one of the brightest prospects in Scottish football, Ferguson has impressed with Aberdeen. He has a real tenacity to his game, and a never-say-die attitude that would make him popular at Ibrox – especially as a boyhood Rangers fan.
Gers supporters have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with some believing that Ferguson is exactly what Rangers need.
Fans think Ferguson can bring ‘blue steel’ and a ‘winning mentality’ to Rangers, even believing that he could be Rangers’ very own Scott Brown in the coming years.
