Rangers moved another step closer to winning the Scottish Premiership title on Saturday afternoon as they beat Celtic 1-0.
The Gers went into the game 16 points clear of the Bhoys, and knew a victory would severely damage Celtic’s hopes of a revival.
In truth, Rangers weren’t in fine form on Saturday, and Celtic were by far the better team in the first half, testing Allan McGregor on a number of occasions.
The game turned on Nir Bitton’s second-half red card though, as he was given his marching orders for bringing down Alfredo Morelos – and Rangers took advantage.
Callum McGregor scored an own goal to give Rangers a 1-0 win, with Celtic unable to get back into the game from that point on.
Rangers therefore kept yet another clan sheet, and defender Leon Balogun was a key part of Saturday’s defensive showing.

The summer signing from Wigan Athletic was given the nod alongside Connor Goldson, and he justified Steven Gerrard’s decision to pick him.
Fans took to Twitter to hail the Nigerian, branding him ‘immense’ and ‘outstanding’, feeling that he proved his doubters wrong with a huge display in the heart of the Rangers back line.
