Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have Kenny Miller to thank for a lot, but fans weren’t happy with him on Saturday.
Kenny Miller has found himself in hot water with Rangers fans.
The Gers edged a nervy encounter with Ross County at Ibrox on Saturday as Graeme Murty’s side won 2-1 for a third successive Premiership win – the last two being against Aberdeen last week.
Alfredo Morelos cancelled out Craig Curran’s first-half opener for what was his first Rangers goal since September, before Danny Wilson grabbed an 83rd-minute winner for the hosts.
The victory definitely papered over some obvious cracks as numerous players in blue – including Carlos Pena – posted bog-average performances, but it seems like fans of the Ibrox club believe that Miller was also well below his best.
The 37-year-old striker, who turns 38 this month, has netted only twice in 14 Premiership games for Rangers this season and fans believe it’s time that Murty showed him the door.
Miller, undoubtedly a Rangers legend, has looked sluggish for most of the season and perhaps the longer that he remains a first-team player, the more damage he’ll do to his legacy if he plays like he did today.
The Scottish hitman, whose contract expires in the summer, hasn’t looked the same menacing figure up front since Mark Warburton was sacked earlier in the calendar year, having failed to endear himself to Pedro Caixinha, and it remains to be seen whether Murty can get him back on song.
