Glasgow Rangers have confirmed that they will be without Ibrox stalwart Kenny Miller for a significant period.

Rangers fans have been reacting to the news that the club confirmed on their official website earlier today that Kenny Miller is set for a significant period on the sidelines after rupturing his hamstring in the recent win over Hibernian.

Miller has endured a turbulent season, having featured prominently during the early weeks before seemingly being exiled by Pedro Caixinha, and then becoming a stalwart of the team once again when the Portuguese was sacked and replaced by Graeme Murty.

However, Gers fans would now be forgiven for wondering if the 37-year-old will play for the Ibrox side again after he limped out during the early stages of the victory at Easter Road earlier this month.

The club have now confirmed on their official website that the veteran is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines – though they have not suggested quite how long that will be.

A general view of Ibrox Stadium is seen ahead of the EURO 2016 Qualifier match between Scotland and Georgia at Ibrox Stadium on October 11, 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Interestingly, the news has prompted a mixed reaction from the supporters. Many do not believe that Miller brings as much to the team as he should anymore and hope that the injury is a wake-up call to the board that they must now go out and strengthen their attacking options in January.

Names such as Steven Naismith and Jason Cummings have been mentioned as players the Gers should target next month by some of the supporters who have taken to social media to comment on the disappointing news for Miller.
