Glasgow Rangers have agreed to sign Jermain Defoe.

Glasgow Rangers have struck a deal to sign Jermain Defoe, Sky Sports report.

Defoe is joining Steven Gerrard’s side on a 18 month loan deal.

Rangers fans are over the moon at the development, with Defoe’s strong scoring record making him an almost surefire success at Ibrox.

It could be the tipping point in the title race too, as Rangers look to dismantle Celtic’s spell of dominance.

Former Celtic striker John Hartson asked on Twitter if the signing meant Rangers’ top scorer Alfredo Morelos will now be sold.

Rangers fans reacted to Hartson’s comment with a mixture of delight and anger.

There was some mocking of the former Celtic fan, who it is felt must now be seriously worried about Rangers winning this year’s title.

Rangers fans are confident Alfredo Morelos will be staying put to partner Defoe, at least this January until the end of the season.
