The Rangers midfielder’s start at Ibrox has been superb.

The Ibrox midfielder has been in sparkling form at the start of the 2019/20 season, scoring three goals in seven matches and emerging as a prime pick in Steven Gerrard’s engine room.
Displaying attacking ambition and the physical robustness to get stuck into midfield battles, the Gers appear to have found an all-rounder well capable of excelling at Scottish Premiership level.
He’s looked good in European competition too and will be hoping to help his team reach the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.
The chance to play at international level should be great for his development in the long-term and ultimately his career at Rangers, even if another playing dashing round the world to play friendlies and the like isn’t ideal.
Having a squad full of international talent is surely the aim for Gerrard and his coaching staff. The team is finally reaching the kind of standard that Rangers fans have been looking for, for years.
Fair to say then that some supporters are delighted with the news, with some feeling it’s vindication for the player after former manager Lee Bowyer’s criticism for his move to Glasgow.
