Rangers beat Motherwell away at Fir Park this afternoon.
Rangers picked up a second straight win this afternoon, beating Motherwell 3-0 at Fir Park – their second 3-0 victory of the week.
Having hammered Hearts in midweek, Rangers were on the road this time, travelling to take on a youthful and improving Motherwell side.
Even without Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos, Rangers were by far the better side, and went ahead in the first half as Tom Aldred couldn’t deal with Jermain Defoe’s pass, allowing Scott Arfield to get in and score.
Arfield added a second before the break, as Ryan Jack picked him out from a Motherwell mistake, and the Canadian lofted a smart finish over Mark Gillespie and into the net.
Rangers had more chances in the second half, and Arfield grabbed his hat-trick, slotting home after unselfish play by Jermain Defoe inside the penalty area.
The Gers were impressive once again, bouncing back in style from their defeat to Celtic with two wins and two clean sheets as they make their Old Firm rivals wait for the Scottish Premiership title.
Rangers went up against Motherwell winger Jake Hastie today, just days after the Glasgow Evening Times reported that Rangers have abandoned attempts to bring the 20-year-old wide man to Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s men had teed up a pre-contract agreement for Hastie, but that deal seemingly won’t be going through, and Rangers fans have commented on his performance today.
Some feel that Hastie didn’t quite show enough today to prove that he’s the man needed to take down Celtic, even though he may well have huge potential. Whilst some were encouraged, most think that Rangers aren’t missing out right now.
