Glasgow Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty continues to shine during his time away from Ibrox.

A number of Rangers fans have lauded Greg Docherty on Twitter after the midfielder scored a stunning goal against Premier League opposition in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Docherty has arguably enjoyed a fantastic loan spell since leaving Ibrox for Shrewsbury in the summer. He regularly looks like the League One side’s most dangerous player, and there have been calls from Gers fans throughout the season for Steven Gerrard to recall the youngster this month.
With the transfer deadline coming this week, it appears that Docherty will more than likely stay where he is until the summer. And based on his latest performance, it is not difficult to see why Gerrard may believe that he will benefit most from not returning just yet.
Shrewsbury hosted Wolves on Saturday, and it was Docherty who broke the deadlock with a brilliant finish two minutes after the break in a tie that would ultimately finish 2-2.

The 22-year-old – who gave John Ruddy a scare during the first-half with a vicious long-range strike – won back possession in his own half, before sprinting forward to get in a position to receive the ball again just inside the Wolves box.
From a tight angle, he managed to unleash a superb effort that soared into the roof of the net. It is the eighth goal that Docherty has scored this season.

And in response to the goal, several Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement about Docherty’s return. Some remain convinced that it was a mistake to loan him out in the first place, while others are hoping that Gerrard will recall him before the window closes.
But many cannot wait for next season when Docherty seems set to return to his parent club. Wolves are flying high in the top flight and played a strong lineup at the weekend, so the fact that the Gers ace scored against them undoubtedly says a lot about his potential.
