Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Russell Martin to Ibrox. Could he become the Gers captain, with Danny Wilson currently wearing the captain’s armband?

Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments from manager Graeme Murty about Russell Martin.
Murty recently suggested that he could hand the captain’s armband to new Rangers signing Martin.
Rangers have signed the 32-year-old from Norwich City in the Championship in England in the January transfer window.
The Scotland international has moved to the Gers on loan from the Canaries until the end of the season.
Rangers manager Murty recently suggested that he could make Martin the Ibrox club’s captain.

When asked about the possibility of Martin becoming the Rangers captain, Murty told The Scottish Sun: “It would be difficult with a new guy coming into the club. I have no doubt he has captain potential because of his leadership.
“But I have to think about it more deeply. He’s a manager in the making, I would suggest, in terms of his knowledge and the way he conducts himself and his manner around the place.
“So if we can get him to impact on our players then he will be a really good signing. I’m confident the guy that he is, he will make us better.”
Lee Wallace is the Rangers skipper, but the 30-year-old left-back is on the sidelines at the moment, and so are deputies Kenny Miller and Bruno Alves.
Danny Wilson has been wearing the captain’s armband for the past few weeks, having been on the books of Rangers since 2015.
The 26-year-old Scottish centre-back is his second spell at Ibrox at the moment, having started his professional club football career at the Gers before leaving for Liverpool in 2010.
Rangers fans do not want Martin to be the captain and want Wilson to remain the team’s skipper.
