Rangers lost 1-0 to Rapid Vienna on Thursday night.

Rangers are out of the Europa League, after falling to a 1-0 defeat away at Rapid Vienna on Thursday night.
The Gers travelled to Austria in search of a win to go into the knockout stages of the competition – much further than anybody expected them to go.
Steven Gerrard named quite a defensive side though, and that lack of attacking impetus was clear, with Rangers really struggling to supply Alfredo Morelos.
The game appeared to be petering out towards a 0-0 draw, but there was a goal – and it wasn’t the one Rangers wanted, as Dejan Ljubicic scoring the winner, sending Rapid through.
It was a huge disappointment for Rangers, who started the campaign so brightly, but ultimately couldn’t see it through and won’t be joining Celtic in the knockout stages.
Many players flatted to deceive for Rangers, but winger Glenn Middleton really left fans frustrated during and after the game.

The 18-year-old was Rangers’ main attacking outlet other than Morelos, but didn’t impress on the night as he couldn’t make the desired impact going forward.
Fans took to Twitter to criticise the former Norwich man, with some feeling that he is out of his depth starting for Rangers in such big games, and others somply suggesting that he isn’t good enough right now, believing that he needs to be dropped and playing with him in the team is like being a man down.
