Rangers face a decision over Glenn Middleton this summer – and fans were certainly impressed with him on Sunday.
Middleton was snapped up by Graeme Murty in January 2018, having coached him at Norwich City down in England.
After a bright start under Steven Gerrard, Middleton lost his way last season, and loan moves to Hibernian and Bradford City didn’t exactly help.
Now 21, Middleton is out on loan at St Johnstone – and what a day he had for Callum Davidson’s men on Sunday afternoon.
St Johnstone were playing against St Mirren in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, and advanced with a 2-1 win as a domestic cup double becomes very realistic.
Middleton made a huge impact, changing the game as a second-half substitute. First, he crossed for Chris Kane to open the scoring, and then found the net himself.

Middleton pinged a superb left-footed free kick past ex-Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, and St Johnstone go through to face Hibs in the final.
The winger returns to Rangers this summer, and Steven Gerrard will soon have to decide whether to bed him back into the Gers side, loan him out again or move him on.
Rangers fans have been raving about Middleton, branding him a ‘game changer’ whilst feeling that his performance was a ‘masterclass’.
Others believe Middleton deserves a chance at Rangers next season, calling on Gerrard to get him back in the squad.
