Rangers may be in the market for a striker this summer – but it seems that Florian Kamberi’s future may lie away from Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard has Jermain Defoe signed up for next season, but Alfredo Morelos could leave with a number of clubs believed to be interested.
If Morelos goes, then Rangers would need a big-name replacement for their top goalscorer. That is unlikely to be Kamberi, who arrived on loan from Hibernian in January.
The 25-year-old arrived at Ibrox on deadline day in January, helping boost Gerrard’s striking options with Defoe out injured.
Kamberi fared well; he provided a spark in the Rangers attack, notably picking up a goal and an assist at St Johnstone in February.
He led the line superbly in the 1-0 win at Braga, and some wondered whether Gerrard would bring him to Rangers permanently as a result.

However, The Scottish Sun claim that Rangers are now backing away from Kamberi, and he is likely to move elsewhere with five clubs around Europe pursuing him.
Rangers fans have been taking to Twitter to react to this update, with some believing that Kamberi isn’t quite good enough to take Rangers forward.
Some believe he was a great stop-gap, but it’s now time for Rangers to look for better, though others are still keen to see him at Rangers long-term.
