Rangers hammered Aberdeen 5-0 at Ibrox on Saturday.

Rangers picked up a huge win on Saturday afternoon, smashing rivals Aberdeen 5-0 at Ibrox in a superb victory.
James Tavernier put Rangers in front from the penalty spot, before Greg Stewart scored the second from close range against his former club.
Alfredo Morelos headed in the third, Tavernier scored another penalty for number four and Jermain Defoe rounded off the scoring with the fifth.
With Celtic only drawing 1-1 at Hibernian, Rangers have closed the gap to their Old Firm rivals, and they will be pleased with the display from Steven Gerrard’s side.
He’s had trouble with Aberdeen in the past, but he had no struggles on Saturday, against the manager who Rangers actually targeted before Gerrard.
In 2017, Rangers confirmed that they had approached McInnes about a return to the club having previously been a Gers midfielder, but he turned the job down.

McInnes was slated by Aberdeen fans for conducting an interview after the game in which he made excuse after excuse, and Rangers supporters joined in.
They believe that Rangers dodged a bullet by not landing McInnes, and feel that he is a born loser who simply couldn’t hack life at Ibrox given how he’s struggling at Aberdeen now.
