Graeme Murty’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have signed Declan John on a permanent contract from Cardiff City, while Gers defender Bruno Alves comments on the team’s defence.

Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the signing of Declan John on a permanent contract from Cardiff City.
The Ibrox club have secured the services of John on a permanent contract after signing the youngster on a season-long loan deal from Cardiff in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window.
The Gers announced on their official website on Friday that they have signed the 22-year-old left-back on a permanent contract and have handed him a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The Wales international has established himself as the first-choice left-back at Ibrox in the absence of the injured Lee Wallace.
Former Rangers striker Steven Thompson commented on the Gers’ decision to sign John on a permanent contract and said on BBC Sport Scotland Facebook live (Friday, December 22, 2017): “If they have signed somebody on a three-and-a-half-year deal at left-back, then questions of Lee Wallace moving forward? I don’t know.”
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the signing of John on a permanent deal by the Ibrox club – they seem to be pleased with the club’s decision.

Meanwhile, Rangers central defender has suggested that the team’s defence should not take the entire blame for conceding goals.
The Scottish Sun quotes Alves as saying: “I don’t think we have a defensive problem, it is the whole team. The defence can be good if the whole team work.
“The first person who defends is the striker, who puts pressure on the other team, then it is the midfielders and then the defenders. We have to build on our teamwork so we all help each other.
“It is not an individual problem, or people making mistakes, it is a collective issue. You can’t just look at the defensive line – we can do better as a team.”
