Glasgow Rangers impressed against Partick Thistle on Saturday with their defence standing firm.

Rangers caretaker boss Graeme Murty has been quick to stamp his authority on the team, with Ross McCrorie and Danny Wilson forming an impressive centre-back pairing for the last two matches.
The duo kept Partick Thistle at bay on Saturday, playing their part in a 3-0 victory, and while McCrorie opened the scoring and looked impressive throughout, the much-maligned Wilson also staked a claim to be a regular starter this season.

When Fabio Cardoso and Bruno Alves arrived at Ibrox in the summer it seemed like Wilson’s Rangers career was nearing its end. However on recent evidence he could be set for a renaissance similar to that of Jason Holt.
The 25-year-old centre-back featured briefly in Rangers’ first two league games of the campaign before falling out of favour and failing to appear until after Caixinha was shown the door.
Now with two starts in a week he will be looking to turn things around, even though some Rangers fans still feel he is a poor alternative to Alves.

While their is a divide when it comes to fan feeling, one wonders if what Wilson has done in the past is clouding their judgement of the player now, especially when you consider Alves’s poor showings immediately prior to hos countryman’s exit.
