Rangers picked up another three points and yet another clean sheet today as they beat Kilmarnock 1-0 at Rugby Park this afternoon.
The Gers beat Lech Poznan 1-0 on Thursday night, but had to turn their attention back to domestic action this afternoon as they headed to Ayrshire.
It wasn’t exactly vintage Rangers, but they claimed a first-half lead when Ross Millen was penalised for handling Connor Goldson’s effort, with James Tavernier stepping up to score from the spot.
Rangers couldn’t find a second goal and had to hang on a little towards the end, but stood strong and battled through to another win without conceding.
With Celtic in Scottish Cup action today, Rangers now have a nine-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, and Steven Gerrard will be delighted to pick up a win at what has been a tricky hunting ground.
Gerrard made the surprise decision to play Cedric Itten on the right of a front three, having brought in the Swiss attacker to play as more of a target man.

Still, he did a great job for the team and provided a strong outlet towards the end of the game, with fans praising the summer signing from St Gallen.
Some felt that Itten was ‘excellent’ and ‘brilliant’ throughout, with his hold-up play praised as ‘unreal’.
Others praised his work rate, and now believe that he will really come to the fore in the coming weeks and months.
