A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement about Zak Rudden’s potential after the forward scored twice in the Championship at the weekend.

Rudden is currently on loan with Falkirk until January and has made a bright start to life in the second tier. He went into the weekend clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle having scored four goals in nine appearances.

And he would have certainly caught Steven Gerrard’s eye on Saturday as Rudden scored twice during the first-half to help Falkirk recover from going a goal down.

The first saw the Gers striker show some bravery to get his head on a cross that the goalkeeper looked set to challenge for. His second came from another smart header, as the 18-year-old nodded the ball round the defender on the left wing.

Rudden then drilled his shot past the goalkeeper to turn the game on its head as Falkirk went on to win 3-2. And his contribution has left plenty of Rangers supporters particularly impressed.

Rangers have a cluster of exciting strikers amongst their first-team and youth ranks, so Rudden faces a tough challenge forcing his way into Gerrard’s plans. But many fans are convinced after his latest display that he is one to keep an eye out for ahead of his return to Ibrox next month.
