Rangers supporters on Twitter have defended the Ibrox club after Celtic’s Scott Brown fired a title warning to their rivals ahead of the new season.
As reported by the Daily Record, Brown stated that he has ‘heard it all before’ when it comes to Rangers as he insisted that his team are still ‘top dogs’ in the Scottish Premiership.
The Bhoys won their eighth title in a row last season, and they will be looking for that historic ninth, but a certain Steven Gerrard will be trying to stop them in their ways.
The comments by Brown were bullish, and it isn’t a surprise given his character and the fact that his team have been so dominant in recent years.
Some Rangers supporters preferred to do their talking on the field of play, but it isn’t a surprise that they are confident going into the new campaign given how they ended the season under Gerrard.
Their style of play under the Liverpool man, a more settled squad, their summer transfer business, and their two Old Firm wins from last season will give them fuel to push on and stop Celtic next term.
In the end, Celtic won the title pretty comfortably last time out, but it won’t be a surprise if it’s a lot closer when the new season kicks off in August.
