Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers might have the luxury of boasting a fit-again Ross McCrorie shortly.

Ross McCrorie of Rangers receives medical attention during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers fans on Twitter are clearly delighted over what Ross McCrorie posted on social media recently.

The 20-year-old Rangers star uploaded a photo of himself wearing boots and football socks in a thiny-veiled suggestion that he is nearing a return to first-team action.

McCrorie, who can play defensive midfield and centre-back, hasn’t kicked a ball for the Gers since the 0-0 draw at Celtic in December, having suffered an injury in the subsequent winter trip to Florida.

But fans of the Ibrox club are delighted with the news that the versatile academy product is on his way back.

Ross McCrorie of Rangers vies with Jack Aitchison of Celtic during The Scottish FA Youth Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park on April 26, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

McCrorie was establishing himself as a key first-team player for Graeme Murty’s side before the injury.

The youngster, who joined the Blues when he was 14, was starting every week under Murty and it’ll be interesting to see how the former Reading defender chooses to use him when he’s back.

Murty has an abundance of midfield options, but less so in central defence, so McCrorie might slot into a centre-back role when he returns, especially with David Bates out injured.
