Glasgow Rangers have extended Ross McCrorie’s contract at Ibrox along with his brother.

The Rangers board has taken plenty of flak in recent weeks for their mishandled search for a new manager which ended with them handing the job to caretaker boss Graeme Murty.

But today the higher echelons at Ibrox have been receiving praise from supporters after it was announced Ross McCrorie has signed a contract extension.

The teenager has been a key player for the Gers in recent weeks, featuring in a midfield holding role.

Rangers announced on their official website today that Ross McCrorie and brother Robby have both been handed contract extensions which take their deals up until 2022.

Robby McCrorie is a goalkeeper who has been out on loan this campaign at Berwick Rangers.

Tying down the 19-year-old duo is important for Rangers, after losing talented whizkid Billy Gilmour to Chelsea in the summer.

They also ended up cashing in on Barrie McKay after his contract began to wind down.

The move for McCrorie reinforces Rangers’ commitment to their academy, and was surely pushed for by under-20s boss turned first team manager Graeme Murty.

This week the Gers board have been getting praise as a result of this contract extension. Here is a look at the reaction of fans on Twitter to the news…
