Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with a move for the out-of-favour striker.

Rangers have been linked with a sensational swoop for Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack.
The Daily Mail’s Transfer Blog (entry posted at 10:57) reported this morning that Rangers have asked about signing the 31-year-old forward, who is linked with Sunderland today.

McCormack began his career with the Ibrox club, scoring twice in 11 Premiership games before leaving in 2003 and eventually establishing himself as one of the Championship’s most prolific marksmen following spells with Leeds United and Fulham.
But a failed £12 million move to Aston Villa – where he scored three times in 20 games last season – means he will be on the move today, with the Black Cats heavily linked, but some Gers fans would love to see him back in Glasgow.

Journalists North of the border were quick to rubbish the speculation but it remains to be seen where McCormack ends up.
Logically, a move away from Aston Villa seems definite, but could he possibly join Rangers? Time will tell.
