Nikola Katic returned to the Glasgow Rangers starting lineup, and the Ibrox faithful were delighted with his performance.

Several Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to implore Steven Gerrard to keep picking Nikola Katic after his excellent performance during the Gers’ impressive 3-0 win against Motherwell on Sunday.
A hat-trick from Scott Arfield saw Rangers secure the three points by the same scoreline that they won in midweek against Hearts. But their opponents did threaten to cause problems for the visitors at Fir Park, especially before the deadlock was broken.
However, Motherwell actually did not register a shot on target until later on in the second-half. And that was largely down to the control that Katic and Connor Goldson had at the back for the Gers.
Gerrard left Joe Worrall on the bench after he picked up a knock in midweek. But Katic provided no indication that he was in the slightest bit rusty, despite making only his second appearance since early February.

He was fantastic in the air, and the simplicity in his game helped calm Rangers down when Well were threatening to create an opening. He also made a couple of nice runs into the opposition half.
And with Worrall still struggling to win over the Ibrox faithful throughout the campaign and the youngster looking set to return to his parent club in the summer, it is easy to see why so many Rangers fans are adamant that Katic is the player that Gerrard should keep picking – with many feeling vindicated for asking for the Croatian to be unleashed earlier in the season.

Here is what some of the Rangers fans were saying after Katic’s performance…
