Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley ended his association with Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers in June.

Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Mike Ashley putting Newcastle United up for sale.

Ashley has been at Newcastle for 10 years, but the English businessman’s time at the Premier League club is coming to an end.

As announced on the Magpies’ official website on Monday, Newcastle has been put up for sale.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Ashley making the decision to sell the Premier League club.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Ashley sold his remaining shares at Rangers in June to fan group Club 1872 and businessman Julian Wolhardt.

Back in June 2017, as reported by The Scottish Sun, Rangers chairman Dave King ended a seven-year deal with Ashley’s Sports Direct company.

Rangers are playing in the Scottish Premiership at the moment after winning automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are playing in the Premier League this season after clinching automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of last season.
