Glasgow Rangers stormed through to the next round of the Europa League with an emphatic win at Ibrox.

A number of Rangers fans have lauded Matt Polster’s performance on Twitter after the Gers stormed into the next qualifying round of the Europa League with an emphatic 6-0 win against St Joseph’s at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard was able to make a number of changes for the clash, with the Light Blues winning the first-leg 4-0 in Gibraltar. The game was a chance for some perhaps closer to the fringes of the squad to impress, and they arguably did exactly that.
Polster came in at right-back for his first start since joining Rangers on a free transfer during the January transfer window earlier this year. And while filling the void left by James Tavernier was never going to be an easy task, he certainly seemed to impress the majority of the Rangers fans on social media.
The American – who also provides Gerrard with another option in midfield – was lively, and showed plenty of energy getting up and done the line in the same way that Tavernier has on a regular basis.

He also managed to provide an assist for Jermain Defoe and should have had a penalty. The standard of opposition may not have been particularly high, but the 26-year-old seemed to do everything he could to impress.
And plenty of Rangers fans have praised Polster’s performance and suggested that they are happy about the prospect of the former Chicago Fire man being Tavernier’s understudy for the coming season.

Here is what some of the fans made of Polster’s performance as Rangers reached double figures for the tie…
