The Rangers boss has been linked with a return to English football, less than 18 months into his Ibrox spell.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton may have shot down speculation linking him with a move to Wigan Athletic during Thursday’s press conference but it hasn’t stopped the fans from having their say on Twitter.
Wigan sacked Gary Caldwell earlier this week and could appoint Manchester United Under-23s coach Warren Joyce instead, according to the Daily Mail.
That news, it seems, would both delight and disappoint Rangers fans in equal measure.
On the one hand, Warburton is the man who restored the Ibrox side to their rightful home in Scotland’s top flight, while on the other, is being there good enough for a club of that stature?
It could be argued the former Brentford boss has not been backed quite as well as he would have liked, however, there’s no escaping the fact that this is Rangers’ worst start to a season in 27 years, and involves two defeats – one a humiliation – at the hands of bitter rivals Celtic.
