The Northern Ireland international performed well for Rangers after being brought in by Mark Warburton for the Ibrox clash.
Rangers picked up an important Scottish Premiership win this weekend as they defeated rivals Aberdeen 2-1 at Ibrox.
Mark Warburton’s side proved to be the better of the two in Glasgow with goals from Kenny Miller and Lee Hodson proving enough, with Andrew Considine scoring a late consolation.
Rangers were after a response following the 2-0 loss to Hearts in midweek and the Rangers boss decided to make some changes for the fixture.
Celtic’s Kieran Tierney in action with Rangers’ Lee Hodson
Northern Ireland international Hodson came in for James Tavernier in an attempt to strengthen the defensive issues at Ibrox and had a fantastic game.
Not only did he perform well at the back but he even managed to find himself on the scoresheet for the side.
Since his summer arrival from MK Dons the 25-year-old had only featured once in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers and he has had to bide his time to earn a place back in the fold.
He certainly did that with this performance and will be hoping that he can keep Tavernier, one of the heroes of Rangers’ promotion campaign, out of the starting XI.
