Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has reportedly decided to let Jordan Rossiter leave Ibrox this summer.

Jordan Rossiter of Rangers is seen during the Betfred Scottish League Cup Quarter Final match between Rangers and Ayr United on September 26, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Scottish Sun which have suggested that Steven Gerrard has told Jordan Rossiter that he can leave Ibrox this summer.

Rossiter appeared to be heading into pre-season with a good chance of getting the opportunity to prove himself to Gerrard after a fantastic loan spell at Bury during the second-half of last term.

The midfielder has been plagued by injury since joining the Gers, but featured regularly during his time at Gigg Lane and helped the Shakers seal promotion to League One.

Nevertheless, it appears that Gerrard remains unconvinced that Rossiter has a future at Rangers. The Scottish Sun reports that the Gers boss has told the former Liverpool trainee that he needs to find a new club this summer.

The news has attracted a mixed reaction on social media. There are plenty of supporters who back Gerrard’s reported decision, with many believing that Rangers will be unable to rely upon the 22-year-old – who reportedly earns £10,000-a-week (via Daily Mail) – even after his brilliant loan spell.

However, there are also those who believe that it could be a mistake to let Rossiter go this summer. They feel that there is a player there, and he may now be ready to prove himself now that his injury problems may potentially be behind him, and thus, they are disappointed that he looks to being heading elsewhere.
