Glasgow Rangers are reportedly keen to bring John McGinn to Ibrox during the summer, but the fans were not impressed.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to urge the Gers to reconsider any plans to target John McGinn during the summer after the midfielder’s performance during the 5-5 draw between Rangers and Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday.

The Daily Record reported earlier this week that the Light Blues’ director of football Mark Allen had put McGinn on his summer radar and Steven Gerrard had been encouraged to send a scout to have a look at the 23-year-old when Hibs took on Hearts in midweek.

McGinn was extremely disappointing on that occasion and it appears that Gerrard is unlikely to think much more of the youngster after his display against Rangers on Sunday as the two sides played out an incredible 5-5 draw.

The Record reports that Neil Lennon is likely to want around £5 million for McGinn, with bidding set to start at around £3 million. But based on what the Gers fans made of his latest display, it would appear that many would not mind if the club gave McGinn a wide berth this summer.

Many thought that McGinn was completely overshadowed in the middle of the park by Rossiter and Jason Holt – whose superb afternoon was ended by a stupid red card in the latter stages.

Some have even suggested that McGinn would not get into Rangers’ starting lineup if he continued to play at that level, especially now that Rossiter has reminded the supporters of his quality with a brilliant display.
