Ipswich Town’s superb start to the season continued on Tuesday night with a frantic 4-3 away win at newly-promoted Millwall, with summer signings Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn finding the net.

The Tractor Boys won both of their two opening games of the Championship season, and they have maintained their 100% record with Tuesday’s victory at The New Den.

Jed Wallace first Millwall in front with just a minute on the clock, but Joe Garner equalised just moments later, before Martyn Waghorn scored twice before half time, with an equaliser from Millwall’s Aiden O’Brien in between Waghorn’s brace.

Tom Elliott pulled the Lions level with just ten minutes to go, but Rangers did claim the victory as Jordan Spence popped up in the 88th minute to send Mick McCarthy’s men back to Suffolk with all three points.

The heroes of the night were forwards Garner and Waghorn, who have continued to make a strong start to life at Portman Road following summer moves from Rangers.

The pair combined for just 14 league goals last season before being sold to Ipswich, but their early form for the Tractor Boys suggests that they will enjoy much better campaigns than they had with Rangers last term.

Unsurprisingly, their exploits for Ipswich have sparked reactions from Rangers fans, who can’t believe that two players who were so hot-and-cold last season are enjoying such superb starts with Ipswich.

Some believe that Garner and Waghorn are showing their qualities in a team that plays to their strengths, something neither Mark Warburton or Pedro Caixinha were able to do with Rangers – but others still wouldn’t want either back at Ibrox, suggesting that playing for Rangers was just too big for both players.

Do you think Rangers should have kept Garner and Waghorn?
