Rangers have brought in a fifth new signing of the summer as Benfica winger Daniel Candeias penned a two-year deal with the club on Sunday.
Manager Pedro Caixinha was planning a full-scale overhaul this summer, and that’s certainly what he has got, having already signed Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack and Dalcio.

Caixinha made it five summer signings on Sunday by landing Benfica winger Daniel Candeias, reuniting with the wide man having previously worked together with Nacional in their native Portugal.
The 29-year-old starred under Caixinha at Nacional, earning a 2014 move to Benfica, but he failed to make a single appearance for the club as he was instead farmed out on loan around Europe.

Candeias had spells with Nurnberg, Granada, Metz and most recently Alanyaspor, where he hit four goals and four assists in 29 appearances, before heading to Ibrox.
The winger will hope to settle down in Glasgow having penned a two-year deal with Rangers, and fans took to Twitter to offer their reaction to his arrival, with some less than convinced.

Some wanted Hearts winger Jamie Walker instead and believe that Candeias will only be a depth option for Caixinha, though others pointed to his high crossing statistics in Turkey as a possible way he can make an impact.
A number of fans also wonder what the signings of Candeias and Dalcio mean for fellow winger Barrie McKay, given that the 22-year-old is out of contract in 2018 – and some think that he could leave Ibrox this summer as Caixinha has now signed two wingers.
