Andy Halliday impressed for Glasgow Rangers in their win at Ibrox on Sunday.

Andy Halliday had another good game as Rangers’ makeshift left-back on Sunday.
Graeme Murty’s side thumped Falkirk 4-1 at Ibrox to progress into the Scottish Cup semi-final, where Celtic await.
Declan John’s injury and Lee Wallace’s lack of match fitness meant that Halliday was again deployed in an unfamiliar left-back role, having also played there against St Johnstone in midweek.

But the boyhood Rangers fan did not disappoint and defensively looked sound again, even if he left a little to be desired in an attacking sense.
And fans of the Ibrox club have praised him on Twitter.

It was indeed a very decent performance by Halliday, but Rangers fans could be forgiven for wanting John or Wallace to return as soon as possible.
The Gers host Celtic at Ibrox next Sunday and Halliday, if he plays left-back, will be up against James Forrest, who has 16 goals this season.
Impressing against St Johnstone and Falkirk is one thing, but keeping Forrest quiet is another thing altogether and maybe, just maybe, a recognised left-back stands more chance of combating the Hoops star.
