Rangers have snapped up striker Joe Garner this weekend.
Joe Garner in action
Rangers confirmed the signing of Preston North End striker Joe Garner on Saturday afternoon with the 28-year-old penning a three-year deal.
With the Gers getting ready to take on Motherwell at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon, Rangers confirmed the signing of Garner and paraded him at half-time as he gets familiarised with his new surroundings.
Joe Garner celebrates scoring
Garner watched on as Rangers secured a narrow 2-1 victory, with Kenny Miller bagging a late goal – and he’ll now be looking to displace Miller in the Rangers attack.
Even though manager Mark Warburton had already landed a forward this summer in Joe Dodoo, he felt he needed a true centre forward, and that’s just what he’s snapped up in Garner.
Joe Garner celebrates scoring for Preston
The former Nottingham Forest and Watford man became a Preston hero in his three-and-a-half year spell at Deepdale, scoring 51 goals in two seasons before finding the net just six times last season.
A boyhood Preston supporter, Garner was unsurprisingly a fan favourite at Deepdale, but now moves on to start his career in Scotland.
After Rangers confirmed the deal, Gers fans took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the deal, with most delighted to see a true centre forward arrive at Ibrox.

Fans can’t wait to see Garner – who is great in the air thanks to his superb jump – get on the end of crosses from James Tavernier, and believe he will add a new dimension to the Rangers attack.
Rangers struggled in front of goal against Motherwell, and supporters think Garner is the man to bring a more clinical edge to Warburton’s side.
