Hodson is out of contract next summer but Rangers have been unable to buy a permanent buyer for him.
It now looks likely he will see the rest of his time out away from Ibrox before being released next summer.

Hodson has not featured at all under Steven Gerrard and his last competitive game came on a day Rangers shipped five goals at the end of last season.
The 26-year-old is a Northern Ireland international and he will be happy to have the chance to go and play regular football.
He was signed by Rangers in 2016 by former boss Mark Warburton but has struggled since his departure.
