It was perhaps inevitable for Steven Gerrard’s side that Kilmarnocj would have the last laugh, with Jones the protagonist.
The defeat has damaged Rangers’ title hopes, with Celtic beating St Mirren 4-0.
In the long term of course, Rangers should be encouraged they have signed quality, game changing player.
That does not make his winner last night much easier to take. Should they have simply paid up now to sign him early?
