Former Tottenham and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood admitted that he would not be averse to getting back into the game at Rangers.

The way ‘Tactics’ Tim Sherwood is portrayed in the media, you’d be surprised he doesn’t patrol the technical area in a dunces hat. The much-maligned gaffer has become something of a figure of fun in recent times, something of a caricature to represent the failings of British football.
This popularised outlook, however, comes across as a little harsh when you analyse his managerial career to date.
Taking over a post-Bale Tottenham side in crisis after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas in the autumn of 2013, Sherwood galvanised the team and took them to a respectable sixth placed finish with a total of 69 points.

And though he was sacked by Aston Villa in October 2015 with the club 19th in the table, it is difficult to imagine many managers doing anything like a good job with one of the worst Premier League sides in living memory. Sherwood, to his credit, took Villa to an FA Cup final 12 months before they were relegated to the Championship.
Maybe Rangers fans should not be so quick to dismiss the prospect of Sherwood taking over at Ibrox, then.
“Yeah I would consider any job at the moment,” Sherwood told Sky Sports’ The Debate on Wednesday when asked whether he would be interested in the Rangers job. “I will talk to anyone and see if their ambitions meet mine, so yeah certainly.”
Sherwood would certainly not be the most universally popular appointment. But he at least deserves to be part of the discussion alongside some of the other names put forward.
