Glasgow Rangers have reportedly begun talks about possibly keeping Jason Cummings at Ibrox next season.

Rangers fans have been reacting on Twitter after the Daily Express (10/05; page 53) reported that the Gers have begun talks with Nottingham Forest regarding a permanent move for Jason Cummings.

Cummings joined the Light Blues on loan during the January transfer window as Graeme Murty attempted to give Alfredo Morelos more support. Unfortunately for the former Hibs starlet, life at Ibrox has not exactly gone perfectly to plan.

The 22-year-old has scored goals, but not the amount that some may have expected, having struggled to hold down a regular spot in the team with Morelos tending to prove to be first-choice and a partnership between the pair yet to really ignite.

The Daily Record recently reported that Rangers agreed a clause that would allow them to make Cummings’ move permanent for £1 million, but the Express (10/05; page 53) is now suggesting that Mark Allen wants to negotiate a cut-price deal with Forest.

Interestingly, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the news has received a mixed reaction amongst Rangers fans on social media, with many suggesting that the club would be better off spending their money elsewhere given that Cummings has not really got going at Ibrox.

However, there are others who believe that there is a lot more to come from the youngster and keeping him at Rangers could be a very smart piece of business from the Gers ahead of a crucial summer for the Scottish Premiership side.
