Glasgow Rangers pair Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Jack missed their weekend win at Ibrox and have not travelled ahead of Thursday’s game.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that both Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Jack have not travelled to Spain for the Gers’ Europa League group-stage opener on Thursday.
Steven Gerrard’s men kick off this stage of the competition with a tricky trip to face Villarreal. But they go into the clash off the back of an extremely positive performance at the weekend as they thrashed Dundee 4-0 at Ibrox.
The Gers claimed that victory without Ejaria and Jack. Jack has been superb since the start of the campaign, and Ejaria appears to really be finding his feet after a slightly underwhelming start following his loan move to Liverpool.
Unfortunately for Rangers, neither man will feature on Thursday, with STV reporting that Ejaria has a hip problem, while Jack is suffering from a calf injury.

The news has largely been met by a negative reaction. It is understandable, but there are concerns amongst the supporters, especially with both men proving key men in Gerrard’s midfield so far this term.
It has however, also been noted that the fact that it does not appear to be the end of the world that Rangers are missing two of their important players highlights just how much depth the club now has. The squad appear to be in a much better position than they have been in for a long time, and could still have the options to cope quite well in Spain.
