Hodson is desperate to break his way into Rangers’ first team.

Rangers defender Lee Hodson has told the Daily Record that he is desperate to reignite his career at Ibrox under new manager Steven Gerrard – but Gers fans have reacted by suggesting he has no future at the club.
Hodson, 26, managed just nine league and cup appearances for the Gers last season, and his chances of playing under Gerrard ahead of the coming season look even more unlikely.

That is because the Gers have signed Jon Flanagan to rival James Tavernier at right-back, while Lee Wallace and Myles Beerman are in contention with Declan John for the left side of defence.

It leaves Hodson with little opportunity to break into Gerrard’s side, but nonetheless he told the Record that he hopes with the installation of a new manager, he can finally start to win his place in the side back.

“It has been difficult at Rangers not getting as many games as I’d like. With a new manager coming in though it’s a fresh start for everybody,” Hodson said. “All I can do in pre-season is the best I can and see if I’m in the manager’s plans.”
Hodson, who joined Rangers in the summer of 2016 under Mark Warburton from League One side MK Dons, has a year remaining on the three-year contract he signed.
Rangers fans reacted to his comments, stating they see no future for the 23-time Northern Ireland international at Ibrox and believe he has “no chance” of reigniting his career in Glasgow.
