Joe Dodoo left Ibrox for Charlton Athletic on loan, and Glasgow Rangers fans have been reacting to his goal on his debut.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter in the wake of Charlton Athletic’s victory over Oldham Athletic after the game saw Gers youngster Joe Dodoo score on his debut following his loan move to the Addicks.

Dodoo only arrived at Ibrox last summer, but generally struggled to hold down a place in the team under Pedro Caixinha, as well as under his predecessor Mark Warburton.

The forward showed the occasional moments of quality – most notably, scoring a brace to turn their Scottish Premiership clash with Partick Thistle on its head last season – but left during the recent summer transfer window after making just five top flight starts during his time with the Light Blues.

But he sent a message to Caixinha by scoring what turned out to be the winning goal in an exciting contest between the League One pair.

Using his pace to get away from the back four, who were deploying a very high line, the former Leicester City man found the back of the net with a composed finish in the 4-3 win for Karl Robinson’s men.

Despite Dodoo not realising his full potential with Rangers, it has come as no surprise to the Ibrox faithful that he has already opened his account, with a number of the players who have left the club this summer – permanently or on loan – thriving for their new sides.

With Dodoo only on loan with Charlton, there is still a chance that the youngster could turn his fortunes around once he returns to Ibrox. And after the goal, several of the supporters expressed a hope that he could continue to impress during his time away and come back full of confidence.

Here is the best of the reaction…
