Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are said to be keen on Marriott, but face competition to bring him to Ibrox.

Rangers fans are reacting on Twitter after Sky Sports named the Ibrox side as Jack Marriott suitors.
Rangers, who hired Steven Gerrard as manager this week, are one of three clubs said to be keen on Marriott, along with Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

Marriott scored 33 goals in his first season at Peterborough United, and was said by manager Steve Evans this week to have attracted interest from one club from north of the border – which now appears to be Rangers.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed last month, however, that the 23-year-old will cost would-be buyers in excess of £5 million.

According to Transfermarkt, the Gers last broke the £5 million barrier to re-sign Barry Ferguson 13 years ago.
