The Rangers defender limped out of Saturday’s Old Firm, which didn’t sit well with some of the Ibrox faithful.

Rangers fans are reacting after Ibrox defender Bruno Alves posted a picture from hospital on Instagram.
Alves limped out of Saturday’s Old Firm encounter at Celtic Park with only 18 minutes played following a heavy landing, and was replaced by the impressive David Bates.
Afterwards, some Rangers supporters accused the veteran Portugal international of ‘bottling’ the big occasion – and other less printable alternatives.
Three days on, however, it appears as though Alves was indeed hurt, after he posted the following image – which shows him beside two doctors, holding crutches and wearing a protective boot on his left foot – along with the caption: “Quality service!”
And to their credit, those who made the initial accusations are holding up their hands in apology…
Here’s what they – along with others who defended the 36-year-old – are saying on Twitter…
It could be argued that Alves’ injury could not have come at a better time for Rangers, whose next competitive fixture is against Fraserburgh in little under three weeks’ time.
