Rangers fans react as Ibrox defender Bruno Alves posts hospital snap on Instagram

The Rangers defender limped out of Saturday’s Old Firm, which didn’t sit well with some of the Ibrox faithful.

Rangers fans are reacting after Ibrox defender Bruno Alves posted a picture from hospital on Instagram.

Alves limped out of Saturday’s Old Firm encounter at Celtic Park with only 18 minutes played following a heavy landing, and was replaced by the impressive David Bates.

Afterwards, some Rangers supporters accused the veteran Portugal international of ‘bottling’ the big occasion – and other less printable alternatives.

Three days on, however, it appears as though Alves was indeed hurt, after he posted the following image – which shows him beside two doctors, holding crutches and wearing a protective boot on his left foot – along with the caption: “Quality service!”

And to their credit, those who made the initial accusations are holding up their hands in apology…

It could be argued that Alves’ injury could not have come at a better time for Rangers, whose next competitive fixture is against Fraserburgh in little under three weeks’ time.
