Rangers brought Middleton to Ibrox in January, reuniting him with former youth coach Graeme Murty.

Rangers fans participate in a display during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on December 16, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers fans are purring over Glenn Middleton, after the January Ibrox recruit shone for the Gers’ development side on Tuesday.

Middletone scored twice as Rangers defeated Icelandic opponents Breidablik 4-0 at Auchenhowie.

The former Norwich City winger opened the scoring a quarter of an hour in, before doubling the hosts’ advantage shortly after half-time.

And two further goals from Myles Beerman and Stephen Kelly made certain the result for Billy Kirkwood’s team.

Middleton is still awaiting his senior debut for Rangers, and several within the Gers’ support base believe he is due a chance before the end of the campaign.

Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter…

Having only turned 17 on New Year’s Day, there is perhaps no rush to blood Middleton – who is yet to play a single minute of senior football for Rangers or anyone.

The Northampton-born player is currently in competition with Jamie Murphy, Daniel Candeias, Josh Windass, Michael O’Halloran and Dalcio at Ibrox – and could fare better next season when at least two of those are likely to have left the club.

Should Graeme Murty throw Middleton into his Rangers plans?
