Rangers loanee Harry Forrester has appeared to have waved goodbye to loan side AFC Wimbledon after a fan thanked him for his efforts on Twitter – but Gers fans remain undecided over whether he is wanted at Ibrox.

Ostracised by Pedro Caixinha towards the end of the 2016-17 season, 27-year-old Forrester opted to join third-tier English side Wimbledon on a season-long loan.

He has impressed south of the border, scoring three times but more importantly providing eight assists and a creative spark in Wimbledon’s fight against the drop. It worked, as Wimbledon sit six points clear in 19th.

Forrester has featured in 36 of Wimbledon’s 45 league games, scoring crucial goals against Northampton Town, Bristol Rovers and Gillingham. A fan thanked him for his efforts, to which he replied “all the best”, suggesting a permanent deal is off the cards.

Joining Rangers back in January 2016, Forrester has featured 44 times for Rangers and scored eight goals. But he was hardly afforded the chance to shine when Rangers fought their way back to the top flight.

Ibrox supporters replied to his Tweet, with some looking forward to his return. However, other fans believe the attacking midfielder could be sold this summer.

One fan excitedly replied saying “he’s coming home”, while another said “he will be sold”.
