The former Rangers loanee spent six months at Ibrox prior to Steven Gerrard’s arrival as manager.

Some Rangers fans are reacting on Twitter after a recent former Ibrox player landed a new role on Sunday.
Russell Martin spent six months on loan to Rangers the season before last.
But Martin, a 29-cap Scotland international, only played 17 times for Rangers and is now on the books at Milton Keynes Dons after a brief spell with Walsall.
The 33-year-old has made 15 outings for his current employers and was on the bench for Saturday’s defeat to Tranmere Rovers.

It proved to be the last of Paul Tisdale’s managerial reign and the Dons announced the following day that Martin will now take the reins with immediate effect.

Martin began his career at Lewes and had spells at Wycombe Wanderers and Peterborough United, before a nine-year stint at Norwich City, the club from whom he was loaned to Rangers – and where the then Ibrox boss, Graeme Murty.
