Former Rangers midfielder Ian Black claimed at the start of September he could still do a job at any level in Britain – outside of the English Premier League [Scottish Sun].
Less than two months on, however, Black has dropped to the sixth tier of English football for employment, signing for Chorley on a non contract basis until the end of the season.
The 32 year old, who knows Chorley boss Matt Jansen from their time together at nearby Blackburn Rovers, left Rangers in 2015 after three seasons at Ibrox.

However, despite winning two promotions under Ally McCoist, Black was never universally popular at Rangers, and his latest move, which follows spells at Shrewsbury Town and Blackpool, has proved the source of some amusement on social media.
