Some Glasgow Rangers fans wish Craig Halkett was returning to Ibrox instead of joining their Scottish Premiership rivals.

Several Rangers fans have expressed their disappointment on Twitter following the news that Craig Halkett has signed a pre-contract deal elsewhere – with some believing that the former Gers youngster should have been the kind of player that Steven Gerrard targeted this summer.
BBC Sport has confirmed that Halkett has agreed to join Hearts when his Livingston contract expires. It appears to be a great move for the centre-back, who had been with Livi since leaving Ibrox in 2016.
The 23-year-old spent around six years on Rangers’ books, but left the club without making a first-team appearance. He has been a mainstay for Livi in the Scottish Premiership this season.
And as Rangers will almost definitely be looking to strengthen their defensive options this summer, there are plenty of supporters on social media who believe that the Gers have missed a trick letting him head elsewhere.

Joe Worrall is set to return to Nottingham Forest, while Gareth McAuley only signed a one-year deal when he joined in the summer (via club’s official website), so Gerrard will surely have to get some signings through the door.
And there is definitely a sense of disappointment amongst some of the Ibrox faithful on social media that Halkett is not going to be the man to fill that void now that his move to Hearts has been announced.
