Rangers laboured to a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Friday night, having gone a goal behind in the first half.

Kris Boyd put the home side in front after 29 minutes against his former club, outpacing Clint Hill and picking out the bottom right corner.

Going into the break a goal down, it took a moment of magic from James Tavernier to bring Rangers level in the 59th minute.

The 24-year-old’s free-kick flew in to the top corner and looked like it could be the catalyst for the Gers to go on and claim all three points.

Things seemed to get even better for Mark Warburton’s side four minutes later when Kilmarnock went down to 10 men.

Greg Taylor was shown a straight red for a horror challenge on Joey Barton, meaning that Killie had to play the rest of the game with a man fewer than their opponents.

Despite their man advantage, Rangers were unable to capitalise and instead will return to Glasgow with just a point.

It extends their lead at the top of Scottish Premiership, but fans believe it should have been extended further, and showed their disappointment on Twitter.
