The Rangers striker has scored 14 goals in 28 games since Steven Gerrard brought him to Ibrox in January.

Rangers are reaping the rewards of Steven Gerrard’s decision to take on a former Premier League striker in January.
Jermain Defoe has scored 14 goals in 28 games since joining Rangers on an 18-month loan deal – despite being nearly 37 years of age.
And some Celtic fans feel that another ageing English goalscorer could have a similar impact to the Rangers man, if he signs for them.
That man, Gary Hooper, spent three seasons at Celtic earlier in his career, scoring 82 goals in 132 games.

Hooper was linked with a return to Parkhead earlier this summer, after his release by Sheffield Wednesday.
And his decision to retweet one supporter’s plea to follow his former teammate, Fraser Forster, back to Glasgow has set tongues wagging again – with several of a Rangers persuasion weighing in themselves…

Rangers and Celtic have each one both of their Scottish Premiership fixtures so far, although it is the latter who sit as early leaders courtesy of their superior goal difference.
Could Hooper mimic Defoe’s success in Glasgow?
