The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, used his connections to sign the winger last summer.

Rangers fans are reacting to reports Liverpool have placed a hefty price tag on Ibrox loan star Ryan Kent.
According to the Daily Record, Liverpool want between £8 million and £10 million for Kent, whose 14 goals or assists in Rangers colours are said to have alerted clubs south of the border.
The newspaper suggests that is likely to price Steven Gerrard’s side out of a permanent move for the winger, while simultaneously denting the Gers’ hopes of a second loan spell.
But what do those of a Rangers persuasion make of the rumour? This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
Liverpool’s alleged asking price is more than Rangers have ever spent on a single transaction, besides the one that took Tore Andre Flo to Ibrox from Chelsea in November 2000.
And the Gers are unlikely to have those kinds of funds to spend in this summer’s transfer window, unless other key players – such as top scorer Alfredo Morelos – are sold.
