Should Rangers bring Steven Gerrard’s former teammate to Ibrox this winter?

Ray Parlour has recommended one of Steven Gerrard’s former teammates to Rangers.
Ashley Cole, who played with the Rangers manager at international level, is out of contract at Los Angeles Galaxy this winter.
Should he re-sign for the Major League Soccer side, Cole would be free to join Rangers when the transfer window reopens.
And discussing his one-time Arsenal colleague on Sky Sports’ The Debate this week, Parlour said: “I’m sure there’ll be lots of clubs interested. Stevie G is a great shout at Rangers. I don’t know who their left back is at the moment but he would be great for the dressing room area.
“He’s had a fantastic career and I think that he can do a job definitely for another season. I’m not too sure about the Premier League, I’m not sure someone would take a chance on him in the Premier League, certainly the Championship.”

Perhaps understandably, Parlour’s comments have got Rangers fans talking on social media.
And this is what some of them are saying…
Despite his relationship with Gerrard, it is likely Cole would have to fight for his place at Rangers, who also employ Borna Barisic, Jon Flanagan and Lee Wallace in the Londoner’s position.
Cole, who turns 38 next month, won Premier League titles and numerous FA Cups at Arsenal and Chelsea, with whom he also claimed the Champions League earlier this decade.

He later spent 18 months at AS Roma before his January 2016 transfer to LA.
